Our experience with Olympia Moving and Storage is a NIGHTMARE that no one should have to go through. On a move in Washington,DC we put half our furniture in storage in their Alexandria storage facility. We had many beautiful and expensive and irreplaceable items stored. When we came back from a year away and went to their storage facility to retrieve our stored furniture, Antique lamps and other item such as a Hermes blanket and silver... all items were GONE!!!! They claimed to look but after six months said the items were LOST!!! Incompetence at the highest levels that one would not expect. The worst was many of the items had been in my family for three generations and no amount of money can replace them. Finally after threatening to sue them after another year went by they finally gave us a one thousand dollars check claiming that .69 per pound is the going rate that they pay. Our beloved items were easily worth close to TENS of Thousands of dollars!! NEVER,NEVER,NEVER use these people services unless you want to risk what we went through for almost two years and have now lost FOREVER.

We had a terrible experience trying to make a simple claim for a broken dresser. Their process indicates a two-day response time but we contacted them repeatedly with no response. The claim was finally settled but not in the way we would have ideally wanted. When we were deciding between Olympia (recommended by our realtor) and a local, very reputable and more reasonably priced company, I asked our rep about the cost difference and he said, "You get what you pay for." Apparently we paid for shoddy post-move customer service and a very mediocre claims settlement. I will NEVER use this company again.
