I received a 38 dollar citation for not being parked within the painted lines of parking space located at the metered lot adjacent to Franklin's Restaurant and General Store when there were no lines to park between. After receiving my citation I took pictures of the 'no longer visible' lines in the lot and specifically the missing lines in my spot. According to the Hyattsville Police, the fact that there were no lines wasn't relevant. Nor was it relevant to the Police that I had to allow space for the car on my right so the driver had some room to get back into his/her car. None of these fact were considered. by the Police. Charging me with a citation due to their neglect borders on corruption.
The HPD has always been there to help and serve the residents with the respect and professionalism one would expect from a smaller police department. Every interaction I've had with them has been nothing short of pleasant, even the couple occasions where I've been pulled over for speeding (lol). Yeah, I broke the law, they called me out on it, ticketed me and it was over. Even then, they were respectful and non-intrusive of my personal rights.
Friendly officers. Department is responsive to citizens' concerns.
I can't believe all the negative feedback here... it's kind of crazy.
I called Property Management for a Lost Item 4 times WITHIN A 10-DAY Period and left messages as requested. My calls were not returned.
I got charged a citation for speeding when I have never even been to Maryland. If those morons would have actually ran the plate, they would have realized that I have an Infiniti and not a Honda captured in the traffic camera. I called to inform them of this mistake, and they hung up on me, TWICE. I will never visit to Maryland after this ordeal, not that I even planned to to begin with.
